Things I’ve learnt about how the Universe works…

✨ Trust and believe that the universe will support you. Although you may not get exactly what you thought you wanted, you’ll receive exactly what you needed!

✨ Gratitude is everything. It is one of the biggest reasons for my body confidence and positive outlook. It’s something I’m passionate about teaching my clients too.

✨ Trust that the hunches you receive, such as a voice in your mind telling you to contact someone or make a big leap, are the universe responding. We are always guided by our loved ones, angels, and spirit guides.

✨ The universe responds to our thoughts and feelings. When we are vibrating in a positive place, we align with the flow of the universe, and we feel unstoppable. Like attracts like.

I didn’t know I’d end up at the back of a crystal shop, but I listened to whatever urged me to say hello to Karen, as she sat on the steps outside of @nurture.bromyard . When she said, “Want to come see my treatment room?” I said yes. I said yes to renting the space even though I was terrified. Nurture now feels like home.

The same happened with my room at @therosieglowskintherapist in Ledbury. That opportunity arose from a conversation during an amazing facial with her. It was my first time meeting her, and I was offered a space in her fabulous salon. One of the best decisions I’ve made.

The universe always knows what’s right. Don’t push; just allow whatever life is meant for you to unfold. It’s coming, I promise.

I could sit here and tell you about all the physical benefits of massage, which we all know about. It helps release tension, reduce stress, improve circulation—blah blah blah 🥱 .

But here’s where the magic really lies…

It forces you to pause and take a breath. It allows you to come home to your body—a body you may have been neglecting with overworking, overthinking, over-comparing, and over-judging. A body you’re probably not all that comfortable in.

It forces you to just stop and focus on nothing but the sensations of massage: the pressure, the movements, the meditative element of it all. Giving yourself a break from it all, allowing you to just be you, without all the other pressures in your life.

And what you don’t realise is that when I massage your wonderful and beautiful bodies, I am pouring so much loving energy into you. I want you to go home feeling that loving energy in the hope you’ll continue to show your bodies the love and compassion they deserve.

Hey, I’m Jessie! Let me introduce myself…

I wasted my youth in self-loathing, went under the knife at 18, starved myself down to a size 4/6 at 19, was diagnosed with Body Dysmorphic Disorder at 21, and finally, at 34, I’m at peace with my body. Now, I help women get to that same place and feeling of peace.

I started my business to offer a safe space for women to explore body acceptance through holistic therapies, beauty therapy, and coaching. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself, I help facilitate.

I never want a woman to feel uncomfortable having a massage or intimate waxing just because of how she feels in her body.

I provide a welcoming, judgement-free space to explore what beauty and self-love mean to you.

Has the word self-care become a bit cringeworthy?

The term ‘self-care’ nowadays seems to be more and more associated with high-end experiences and luxury products.

It’s more often than not used by companies trying to convince you to overspend and sell you something that doesn’t necessarily help you long-term. Something that is more of an instant dopamine hit rather than sustainable in life.

Authentic self-care wades off burnout; it grants us the space to assess our tendencies towards people-pleasing. Self-care allows us to unearth our core values and ensures our actions reflect them. Essential for prioritising sleep, movement, a nutritious diet and mental health—everything women, and society at large, urgently require.

This month is C-Section awareness month, and it go

This month is C-Section awareness month, and it got me thinking about my own.

I have birthed two babies, vaginally with one and abdominally with the other. I had one at home and another in a theatre ward; both times resulted in me being in absolute awe of my body and all women’s bodies, for that matter!

My homebirth showed me just how strong I am mentally and physically, and the whole experience was unbelievably empowering, but my C-Section showed me how to heal, how to stop, and how to surrender.

For anyone who thinks a Section is an easy way out, they are very much mistaken. With my vaginal birth, I was hosting a Christmas party the day after and walking downtown two days after that. My section, on the other hand, took weeks to heal from; I’m still healing now. I’d choose a V-birth any day, but god, am I grateful I got to experience both sides of the coin!

My section made me pause and realise that it’s okay to just stop, to appreciate what my body has just done for me, what it continues to do for me. And in return, I was going to give it the time and space to heal. Not too long, though; I had a music festival to be at 10 days later 😂.

My point is, when we stop and think about all the amazing things our body does do for us instead of all things our bodies don’t/can’t do, we can completely change how we see it…when I’m looking at my scar or my stretch marks or getting frustrated at how weak my core is, I try to remember that and I look back at the pictures of me birthing my son, and whisper, “thank you body, I love you”.
